October 18, 2005

It was still dark outside, when we got up this morning, following our typical morning routine, trying to get the kids ready for school and off to the bus. It was picture day today, so between everyone worrying what to wear, and if the clothes even stay clean, til our youngest one arrives in school was a big concern, way to big, until I realized how beautiful the sun was rising down by the lake. He did it again I was thinking and grabbed my camera and went down to the dock, leaving lunch kits and breakfasts behind. It was the same last year. October 18, my dad's memorial day and it is the most beautiful sunrise I have seen all summer. He has his way, grabbing my intention in midst of a busy life where every minute counts to get 3 kids out the door on time. And here I am standing on the dock in complete silence, wishing to have a canoe, so I could get a bit closer to him. It was breathtaking, everything seemed so easy and connected and so peaceful. It only lasted for a few minutes til grey clouds moved in and it was all over again. Back up to the house, the kids never missed the bus, but I could have easily missed a beautiful moment, if I would I have only listened to the voices around me.

Marg. that's beautiful!
You are very blessed to feel your dad so close. I'm glad you were able to have those few minutes of peace on an otherwise difficult day.

Lovely Margot... you have such an eye for beauty, no wonder you have such beautiful eyes. Thanks for sharing those amazing scenes with us. So many times we get too caught up living day to day bumper to bumper that we forget to look up into the heavenly sky.. If we could just remember to do so, our lives would be so enriched. Good for you Margot!! Proud to have known you.
