The timing was a bit off for my Amarylis to open up. After all the Christmas decorations were taken down and put away (what a huge job again), my Amarylis opened up and gets all the attention now. It seems like there is a silent pact going on, between her and the Oleander, who also produced the most charming, light pink blossoms at the same time. To enjoy the flowers as long as possible, keep the Amarylis in a cool spot overnight and cut the blossoms off, once the stem starts to get soft and yellow to enjoy them on your table.
