Earth Day Celebration with Grade 1
Today was a real fun day. I went to spend the afternoon with Jeremy's Grade 1 class to inform the kids about the importance of trees and on how to grow a tree. They all received a Spruce seedling, which they decorated really nice. The kids enthusiasm and spirit was just great. Especially the kids which require special attention were so excited, when I told them, the little trees are like kids and need your nurturing hands, so they can grow and mature. They felt very needed and made little beds out of tissue paper, before they put them in a little box to take home. Seeding, planting and growing would be a very beneficial and inspiring program for kids to make them realize, how important it is to take care of a living thing. A very special afternoon and I told them I will be back to see how my "little seedlings" are doing.

Good for you Margot!! I'm sure they loved it. What a good way to bring in the spring. Heard you crazy guys were windsurfing this weekend too!! Hope you didn't fall in :)

Those guys were so exicited to get a "little break", and absorbed everything like sponges. I hope their parents will take the time to plant those in a special spot and watch them grow.
And yes, news travels fast...(from the Wesley's camp?), it was us windsurfing and the only ones falling in were Strat and Brad!! The girls stayed dry!

Margot! what a lovely idea to give the Grade 1 kids a tree for Earth Day! I am sure they will cherish it and nuture it, it is now part of their own earth! Great going Earth girl!
Your windsurfing skills are getting awesome--great to shoot for the stars in a sport you love!
